pocket size sketchbook

I finally got my hands on a Talens sketchbook in pocket size. I’ve been using the Moleskine watercolor flip-style for years, but it’s become incredibly hard to find—and absurdly expensive. So I’m switching to this as an alternative. It lacks embossing and doesn’t offer much character as paper, but I guess I’ll just have to get used to it.

ターレンスの手帳サイズのスケッチブックも手に入れた。ずっとモレスキンの水彩フリップタイプを使っていたのですが、どうやら手に入れるのが難しく、恐ろしく高騰したので、代替品としてコレくぉ使うことにしました。エンボスが無く、紙としての面白さはありません。コチラが慣れるしか無いのでしょう〜。

hardcover sketchbook with LSK8 Design pt2

I finally got myself an 8x11 hardcover sketchbook again. 

I really wanted the Canson hardbound one, but it's not available in Japan

and importing it is way too expensive!

So I settled for the Talens hardbound, which is sold domestically.

It works well with pencil, but for watercolor, I still prefer the texture of Canson.

Still, I had a great time sketching in an open space, sipping coffee, and just relaxing. 

It felt so good to draw again!

久々に8ｘ11のハードカバースケッチブックを買った。本当はCanaonのハードバウンドが欲しかったんですが、日本で売ってない。輸入するとかなり高い!!

仕方なく国内販売しているターレンスのハードバウンドを買いましたが、鉛筆は良い感じに描けますが、水彩はCanson の方がノリがいいなぁ〜。

それでも、久々にオープンスペースでコーヒー飲みながらまったりとドローイングして過ごせました。楽しい!!

LSK8 Design pt1

 I just got a graphic-free Dancing-style LSK8 deck, and I'm planning to create my own design using a burning pen and stain-based paints.

Started with a rough sketch—thinking I might add more detailed touches later.

ダンシング系LSK8のグラフィック無しを手に入れたので、バーニングペンとステイン系塗料でグラフィック描いてみようかと計画中。

取りあえずはラフを描いてみました。もう少し細かい描き込みも良いかなぁ…。

LSK8 in Makomanai Park Pt2

Last weekend was a washout, so no skating. But today the weather held up, and three middle-aged guys (yep, that’s us) hit the park for some LSK8 action.

We rode a bit, took a break, rode again—repeat. Honestly, we spent more time chatting than skating. And that’s half the fun.

Wrapped it up after about two hours. Just the right amount of exercise, and a great way to spend the day.

先週末は雨で乗れなかったのですが、今日は天気が持ちそうだったので、オッサン３人でLSK8乗りに行ってきました。１本乗って休憩の繰り返し。話ししている時間のほうが長い。

楽しい～

２時間ほど乗って終了です。

ちょうどよい運動だ。

LSK8 in Makomanai Park Pt1

 It was going to be a scorcher today, so I got an early start and headed out to Makomanai Park for a ride on my long skateboard (LSK8). It’s been a while, and that feeling of cutting through the wind—pure bliss.

After the ride, I dropped by a nearby BOOKOFF and couldn’t believe my luck: The Very Best of Van Halen sitting in the 500 yen section! I already own all the tracks on separate albums, but hey—it’s a best-of. Had to grab it.

Back in the car, I cranked it up loud and hit the road, totally vibing with the music.

On the way home, I stopped by Spatacos and picked up some lamb tacos and fried chicken. Spent the rest of the day relaxing at home. A perfect way to spend a summer day off

今日は猛暑の予報だったので、ちょっと早めに行動開始。

真駒内公園でLSK8(ロングスケートボード)に乗ってきました。久々に風を切るのが爽快でした!!

終わった後で近くのBOOKOFFに寄ったら、何とVery Best of Van Halenが500円コーナーに有るではないですか!!　ベスト盤なので、全曲個別アルバムで持っているのにゲットしてしまった（笑）

車に戻って直ぐに大音量でノリノリでドライブです。

自宅の近くのSpatacosでラムタコスとチキンフライ買って自宅でのんびりの良い休日です。

Back After 10 Years — A Fresh Start（10年ぶりの再開です）

Hello everyone, it’s been a while—actually, it’s been 10 years!Life took me on quite a journey, and I had to step away for a while. 

But finally, I’ve found a bit of space in my heart and mind to return. With this comeback, I’ve decided to give the blog a little refresh. 

The new title is “The Art of Life — A Journal by Marty M. Ito.” 

Here, I’ll be sharing sketches, DIY projects, moments on my snowboard and long skateboard (LSK8), and scenes that left a mark on my heart. It’s a space to explore the comfort of living creatively—through art, nature, and movement. I’ll post whenever something catches my eye or spirit.

みなさん、ご無沙汰をしております。いろいろあってしばらく・・・10年も休んでいました。やっと心に余裕が出てきて再開することができました。

再開に伴ってブログを少しリニューアル。

タイトルは「The Art of Life — A Journal by Marty M. Ito」に変更し、スケッチやDIY、スノーボードやロングスケートボード（LSK8）の時間、心に残った風景などを気ままに綴ることにしました。アートと自然、そして動きの中にある、創造的に生きることの心地よさを探して、気になったらアップしますね。

ちなみに依然のアーカイブはそのまま残してありますので、ご覧になりたい方はどうぞ。

Windows7+Wacom Bamboo CTE-450=v5.3.5-3

いまだにメインのマシンはWindows7でメインの描画ソフトはMacromedia Studio8、そしてペンタブレットはワコムBambooのCTE-450。

先日のWindowsアップデート後にタブレットが認識しなくなってワコムからv5.2.4-5をダウンロード、インストールしてもタブレット認識せず！
サブマシンのドライバを調べてみたらv5.3.3-3でCTE-450は認識するようなのですが、すでにオフィシャルでは無いようなので、オフィシャルサイトの旧製品のドライバ群からv5.3.5-3を入手。

メインマシンにインストールしたらタブレット認識した！

あ～～～こんなことで3時間ほど迷走。
…お察しの通り、こんな時のためのサブマシン。

そしてサブマシンに答えが有るという事は、以前探し当ててあったと言うこと。なのに、時間ないときに限ってウダウダやってしまう‥性です。

と言う事で、貫徹決定！
